Our builder Oasis dream, based in Dubai, is constructing a 32 m by 12 m overflow pool on the Nurai island facing Abu Dhabi. This luxury hotel pool has an overflow on a 45° slope, which is a technical subtlety achieved without any difficulty thanks to the Leader Pool process.
Our builder Oasis Dream has built an overflow pool of 32 m by 12 m on Nurai island in front of Abu Dhabi.
At the beginning of the construction, it was necessary to undertake an important underwork because the pool was below sea level.
So for this large hotel pool in reinforced concrete construction, we had to build a floating slab of 35 meters by 15 meters, 50 cm thick, in reinforced concrete.
After this slab construction we applied a waterproofing layer to prevent any capillary rise of sea water and only afterwards we were able to install the Leader pool formwork with complete and continuous reinforcement according to the rules and building standards in force.
Once the traditional reinforced concrete construction was completed with the Leader Pool formworks, we were able to pour the pool with concrete from the island’s power station.
This pouring in one time that is to say Monobloc in reinforced concrete. After this concrete pouring, we made a 5 cm thick waterproof plaster made of cement, sand and Kompactuna PRO, which is a mass water repellent.
This coating will allow the pool to be completely watertight and from that moment on we can apply any type of coating such as paint, tiles, polyester or even reinforced PVC or liner.
Nevertheless, it turns out that tiling is still the best option for this luxury or high-end swimming pool
The difficulty with this wonderful pool is that it is below sea level and had to be stabilized to prevent it from rising, so we made a floating slab of this size.It is very important to note that the backfilling of this pool will be done on the excess of this slab to bring a considerable pea and avoid any lifting. Thank you to all the team in Dubai for this superb infinity pool.
